HCC's First Classical Guitar and Jazz Festival to Open This Weekend

The Houston Community College Town & Country Campus Performing Arts center will premiere the first Classical Guitar and Jazz Festival this weekend.  Festival highlights include a classical guitar technique class, jazz guitar, vocal, and piano workshops, and an artist concert series.

 

Aubrey Tucker Jazz Quartet and nationally known classical guitarist Chad Ibison will perform on the evening of Friday, February 20.  Then on Saturday February 21, Duo Athena consisting of Valerie Hartzell and Sandra Johnson will present followed by New Orleans jazz guitarist Bill Solley and vocalist Kim Prevost.

 

Jazz workshops, evening concerts, master classes, and technique classes will occur Friday afternoon, Saturday morning/afternoon, and Sunday afternoon. This event is open to members of the community and attendees can choose to fully participate or they can audit workshops

.

Tickets are $5 for HCC staff/faculty/students/GH & GHGG members/senior citizens/children under 18 and $10 for general public.
