Houston Community College (HCC) is set to begin an international freight forwarding apprenticeship program with the Fracht Group, an international leader in the logistics sector as partner.

With the help of HCC Coleman College for Health Sciences, HCA Houston Healthcare is solving a shortage of computed tomography technologists by upskilling some of its general radiologic technologists. This local initiative has taken root and already reached other cities.

Creativity and hard work have paid off for the HCC Southwest Student Government Association (SGA) with its selection as Region 5 Chapter of the Year by the Texas Junior College Student Government Association. The SGA will compete this summer for statewide honors.

Houston Community College has won a $430,000 Aviation Workforce Development Grant from the Federal Aviation Administration. The grant will allow the college to establish a comprehensive aviation maintenance technician program that addresses the growing demand for skilled aviation technicians in the region.
