I am the manager of the Sterile Processing at my current place of employment.

Why did you enroll at HCC Coleman College?
I previously received my Associate of Arts degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from HCC. I remember how supportive the staff was in making sure the students had the support they needed to succeed. I decided to stay with HCC to earn this healthcare certificate.

Why did you choose your program of study?
I chose the Endoscopy Technician program because in my current job I work closely with the endoscopy and operating rooms. I also like the flexibility of the program. Classes are in the evening, so it allows me to work as I earn my certificate.

What do you like best about your college experience?
I like the challenge of learning new skills in the classroom and performing them through hands-on learning in the labs and clinicals.

What do you like best about your program of study?
The Endoscopy Program will give me the chance to assist doctors in multiple procedures that can save lives and help people experience a better quality of life.

When you are tired, what motivates you to push forward?
I remind myself how my education will afford me more opportunities in my professional career.

What advice can you offer to help other students succeed?
Use your time wisely to gain all the skills necessary to grow in your profession. Don’t take breaks if you don’t have to. There will be plenty of time for breaks once you complete your goals.

Any final thoughts?
Houston Community College is a wonderful place to receive a quality education.
