The HCC team is excited about a new development that affords HCC graduates and former students the opportunity to maintain existing and foster new connections. To kickoff this momentous occasion, the HCC Alumni Association is hosting “Picture Me at HCC” Professional Photo Day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 27 at the HCC Administration Building located at 3100 Main Street.

Houston City College has launched a new Mold Maker Apprenticeship Program in partnership with Alcon, the global eye care leader. This initiative, under the auspices of HCC’s Gulf Coast Region Apprenticeship Hub, reflects HCC’s commitment to equipping students with high-demand technical skills while meeting the workforce needs of Houston’s thriving manufacturing sector.

When the doors for registration open, Dr. Laura Jakubowski’s HCC chemistry classes fill up in a hurry. HCC Interior Design student Clariza Reyes was announced as one of Gucci’s 2025 Changemakers by the renowned luxury fashion brand. The 2025 Gucci Changemaker recipients were selected from thousands of applicants across the North American continent. The Changemakers program includes a multi-year $5 million Impact Fund for non-profit organizations and a $1.5 million scholarship program, demonstrating Gucci's commitment to creating lasting social impact in our communities and the fashion industry.

HCC's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program has been recognized as the top EMS education program in Texas, according to a comprehensive analysis of 2024 National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
