A team of Houston Community College leaders and educators has won the 2021-2022 Innovation of The Year Award from the League of Innovation in the Community College, an international nonprofit organization with a mission to cultivate innovation in community colleges.

On Monday, May 16, the new HCC Katy campus officially opened its doors at its new location at 22910 Colonial Parkway, Katy, Texas, 77493. HCC Katy’s Foxlake location is now closed as all operations and classes are now at the new location.

The HCC Katy campus Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program has moved from Katy to its new home at the HCC Spring Branch campus, just in time for the 2022 summer sessions. Students will now be able to take basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) Paramedic 1 coursework at the Spring Branch campus, located at 1010 Sam Houston Parkway.

For the third straight year, Houston Community College dual credit students who are also Stafford High School seniors simultaneously received their high school diplomas and associate degrees from HCC.

Houston Community College (HCC) has been named one of 10 national finalists to receive a $1 million grant from the Lumina Foundation of Indianapolis, IND. Through its Million Dollar Community College Challenge, the foundation will award $1.9 million in grants and technical assistance directly to community colleges, with one college receiving $1 million and nine colleges receiving $100,000 each.
