Clery Report
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal statute requiring all colleges and universities participating in federal financial aid programs to maintain and annually disclose campus crime statistics and security information. Under this federal law, all currently enrolled students, current employees, prospective students, and prospective employees are entitled to request and receive a copy of the Houston City College Annual Clery Security Report (ASR).
The ASR includes crime statistics about certain specified crimes/incidents that have been reported to the Houston Community College Police Department or other campus officials over the past three years. All incidents contained with the ASR have either occurred on one of HCC’s campuses, in off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by HCC, or on public property adjacent to campuses.
The ASR contains policy statements pertaining to campus security, crime or emergency reporting options, emergency response information, crime prevention, and crime statistics for HCC campuses. The HCC Police Department encourages the accurate and prompt reporting of all criminal offenses and campus safety and security concerns, and provides information in the ASR on how, and to whom, to report crimes or other security concerns.
