About Us
HCC Adult High School began over 40 years ago as one of the landmark programs of the college. In partnerships with local ISDs, HCC began offering night school and credit recovery courses to local students. All of the courses are taught by certified teachers and TEA approved.

- $175.00 Credit Recovery (per ½ credit)
- $275.00 Original credit (per ½ credit)
*If you already have an HCC ID number you do not need to submit an online application*
If this is your first time registering with Houston City College, contact your school counselor and they will provide you with the HCC-AHS Approval form. This form is not available online, only your counselor can provide it to you/parent.
*If you are not currently enrolled in a public, charter or private school please contact our office directly.*
Application Steps for New Students:
- Start the application process
- Scroll down and Click on “Take the first step: Apply HCC”
- Click on “Start New Application”
- Click on “Adult High School”
- Complete the entire application. Leave nothing blank, doing so can prolong the process.
Credit Recovery vs. Original Credit
Credit Recovery Program is essential for students who need to retake courses or earn credits they missed or failed during the regular high school year.
Original Credit allows students to take courses that they have never taken before for credit. These are courses taken for the first time.
Dates to Remember
All Registration will be handled manually by the AHS Team. School counselors are to submit your AHS approval form by email (ahs@hccs.edu).
Fall 2025 Class Dates are as follows:
- Session I:
- Session I Registration: August 8, 2025 through August 29, 2025 @ Noon
- Session I Classes start: September 5, 2025 through October 17, 2025
- Session II:
- Session II Registration: September 5, 2025 through October 19, 2025 @ Noon
- Session II Classes start: October 31, 2025 through December 14, 2025
- Orientation is Mandatory (virtual)*
- Session 1 Orientation: August 30, 2024 @ 6:30 p.m.
- Session 2 Orientation: October 11, 2024@ 6:30 p.m.

- Saturday (8 a.m. -12 p.m.)
- or Sunday (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
