Thank you for your interest in Tutoring with Houston Community College. Due to the large amount of applicants we receive and review daily, we ask that you please be patient with the hiring process.

Below are the part-time positions available: Tutor I, Tutor II, Tutor III and Lab Assistant II

  • On top right of screen, drop-down “About HCC”, then select “Careers @HCC”.
  • Scroll down and select “Search for a job at HCC”.
  • You may have to create a profile before applying.

 

Available Positions

Lab Assistant- Type 22001JB in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'

Tutor I - If you have 12-60 college credits completed. Type 22001OI in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
Tutor II - If you have over 60 college credits completed & 1+ years of Tutoring/Teaching Experience. Type 20001XH in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
Tutor III - In general, if you have a Master’s Degree (Degree Conferred) & 3+ years of Tutoring/Teaching Experience. However, different programs have different credentialing requirements.

  • Faculty Tutor III -English: Type 21002KS in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Faculty Tutor III - Math: Type 19003N7 in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Faculty Tutor III -(Psychology, Sociology, Government, Economics, Developmental classes, History, ESOL, EDUC, etc.): Type 22001OL in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Faculty Tutor III - Science: Type 22001IT in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Nursing Tutor III: Type 2200257 in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Faculty Tutor III - Computer Science: Type 22001NB in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'
  • Faculty Tutor III - Accounting: Type 22001N9 in the “Keyword field box” and click 'Search'

 

Please note: To become a Faculty Tutor III, you must meet our credentialing standards, which vary by subject and degree

  • Click on “Apply for Job”. Follow the steps through to “Submit Application”.
  • You will receive a confirmation number. Keep it for your reference.

 

 

Next Step

It is important that you follow these instructions....Scan and email the following THREE items (in ONE email, but as separate attachments) to the hiring manager (see below in the "Contact Us" box for the list of managers).

  1. Copy of Official or Unofficial Transcripts for ALL Tutoring Positions
  2. Letter of recommendation from Faculty, Chair, or Dean
  3. Resume

  • All the subjects you feel confident in tutoring
  • How you learned about the position
  • Top 5 campuses that you are able to work at. Or indicate all locations.
